While on vacation in the Adirondacks of New York and the Green Mountains of Vermont, we happened upon the most storybook-beautiful piece of land I have ever seen - and it's for sale.  The parcel is 6+ acres, eight miles from downtown Bennington, a 15 minute back roads meander by car.  It sits on an excellent gravel road and is a third of a mile from pavement.  Cold Spring Brook runs through the property and is crossed by an old stone bridge, also on the property, that is nothing short of enchanting.  According to the locals, Cold Spring has been flowing for hundreds of years and was once a principle town water supply.  The land is forest around the brook with tree-dotted clearing elsewhere, including a level building site where a house once stood.  The house burned down in 2001.  No evidence remains, although a modern detached garage did survive and is still there.

Negotiations with the seller are underway.
